Affordable Housing
Cities like Edmond need all types of housing to thrive - and private developers want to build it! We support changes to laws and processes that allow for an "all-of-the-above" housing strategy and for property owners to have the freedom to build what works on their land.

The ABCs of Housing include:
-
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
-
Apartments
-
Duplexes
-
Fourplexes
-
Mixed Use Development
-
Mobile Homes
-
Pocket Neighborhoods
-
Single-family homes on small lots

Townhouses
Broadway Corridor Revitalization
Broadway from Downtown Edmond to Comfort Dr. is the city's primary commercial corridor. The existing six-lane highway must be reimagined and adjacent properties need to be up-zoned to revitalize this economic asset.
Business Districts
The city and local businesses should work together to create, support, and grow vibrant business districts with their own unique identity and dedicated funding sources for infrastructure, security, and marketing.
Downtown Edmond
Edmond's historic urban core is undergoing an amazing transformation that will bring new housing, jobs, shopping, and entertainment for the next generations.
I-35 Corridor Development
Edmond's 7.5 miles of I-35 frontage is a largely untapped resource. An urban interstate corridor can support commercial, residential, and retail development.
Land Use and Zoning Reform
Removing outdated, 80-year-old exclusionary zoning and segregated land use policies will unleash free markets and support affordable housing, economic vibrancy, public health, and traffic efficiency.
Mixed Use Development
City policies must allow for modern live+work+shop+play developments that maximize what's built on valuable urban property.
Parking Reform
City policies must allow commercial developers to build the amount of parking that works rather than requiring parking minimums that lead to large swaths of mostly-empty parking lots.
Regional Transportation Authority of Central Oklahoma
Edmond - especially Downtown, the University of Central Oklahoma, and the Covell Corridor - will benefit more from intercity commuter rail than any other city in the RTA. It is critical for future generations that Edmond government and business leaders must work to boost this initiative and secure voter support.
Tax Increment Financing
Tax Increment Financing or TIF is a powerful development tool that should be used carefully and intentionally.
Transportation and Mobility
Edmond must accommodate all forms of travel, including walking, cycling, and public transportation. Streets should designed to prioritize local businesses and safe neighborhoods, not moving cars at highway-speeds.
University Partnerships
The City of Edmond and the University of Central Oklahoma have an amazing opportunity to reimagine the neighborhood between Downtown and campus to support local businesses, affordable housing, and a modern university experience.
